Our Mission Statement: Faith • Hope • Love in Action

Who We Are....

United Methodist Women is the largest denominational faith organization for women with approximately 800,000 members whose mission is fostering spiritual growth, developing leaders and advocating for justice.

Members raise up to $20 million each year for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world.

United Methodist Women has been challenging social injustice for more than 140 years. The organization provides resources and opportunities for members to help improve the lives of women, children, and youth nationally and internationally.

Some of our Action Issues are:

Human Trafficking

Domestic Violence

Women's Rights

Immigration

Health Care

Environment

Economic Justice

Racial Justice

Public Education

Child Advocacy

Global Justice

Why Women and Children...

United Methodist Women support programs and projects aimed at improving the special needs of women because of their refugee statuses, their immigration statuses, situations in which they are abused, their high illiteracy rate in some countries, their economic dependence, their educational disparities, and much more.

Children often do not have a voice in this world, so United Methodist Women cares for them and advocates on their behalf. United Methodist Women commits to children globally through community centers, educational opportunities for refugee children, homes for street children, advocacy against sexual exploitation and child labor, educational institutions and much more.

If children are raised with safety, security, food, shelter, education, and basic human rights, these children will grow to be loving and secure adults. United Methodist Women believe deeply in responding to Jesus' mandate to "care for the least of these."

Who can join....

United Methodist Women welcomes all women who commit themselves to our Purpose.

You don't have to be a member of The United Methodist Church to join.

Our membership is diverse and there is no minimum age requirement.

Our Jones Memorial Unit…

Some United Methodist Churches have a local unit where members meet in small groups for fellowship, support, spiritual growth and missions. Here at Jones, we have the Serenity Sisters, Joy, Gleaners and Friendship groups, or "circles" as they are called, which meet monthly; or you may just attend our quarterly large group meetings. Our large group meeting are fun-themed luncheons with delicious food,  a guest speaker, and a mission opportunity. We also work together fundraising, with our annual Winter Starlight Banquet and our fall Bake and Craft Sale, to support our mission work.

If you are looking for a sisterhood of Christian women who support one another, seek to grow in Christ and strive to help those in need, please contact us though our church office.
